I decided on sash windows for Blossom Cottage and that they must slide up and down properly. Rhys and I went off to our local reclamation yard and I examined a genuine sash window complete with ropes and pulleys. There is NO WAY I was going to get all that detail right in scale so I thought of a version that could work with a simple enough construction.
