Fireplaces are the perfect place to gather around and I love ours very much so of course Blossom Cottage had to have not one, but three and they are all “working”. This fireplace surround is made from layered thick cardstock painted and the metalwork is pewter sheeting and although the sheet is thin, it works so well. The mantlepiece is from a strip of really nice wood that came from who knows where. The grate I made with very thinly sliced cardstock and painted it all black. The swords Rhys and I found in Germany is a little village along the “Romantic Road”. It is a gorgeous route from Wurtzburg all the way to the southern border at Fussen which is where Neuschwanstein Castle is.
